Three days in Maui · October 26–28, 2026 · Wailea Beach
Build the Marriage You've Always Wanted — No Matter What You've Been Through.
This isn't counseling. Nobody gets fixed, analyzed, or put on trial. We don't sit around asking what's wrong with your marriage. We build what you want — out loud, together, right there — and you leave with it installed.Explore the three days
Ten couples. When the seats are gone, they're gone.
You've already tried harder.
That's the part nobody gives you credit for. When your marriage went quiet, you didn't check out. You didn't stop providing. You went at it the way you've gone at everything that ever worked — head down, more effort, absorb the cost, don't complain.
And maybe it worked. Maybe things are good now. Better than they were. You'd call it solid.
So why does good still feel like you're holding your breath?
Here's what I've watched happen to strong couples for thirty years: most couples don't lose what they have because they stopped loving each other. Life runs it over. Work. Kids. Money. Family. The next fire. And the urgent keeps winning.
Eventually, instead of the two of you standing together against what's coming at you, you end up standing across from each other.
And here's the crazy part: nobody ever taught us how to do this. Nobody sat you down and said, here's how you build a relationship together. Here's how you protect the love when life gets hard.
It's not that your marriage is broken.
It's that it was never fully built.
Here's the truth underneath every marriage I've ever coached.
You've been loving each other in your own languages — fluently, generously, at a cost nobody ever thanked you for. Because two people transmit I love you on frequencies the other one can't receive.
Men love women as if they were men. Women love men as if they were women.
That's not a character problem. It's a translation problem. And translation is a skill. A skill that must be learned.
But here's the wisdom most couples miss: a skill you have to remember isn't a skill yet. It's a discipline. And disciplines drift the second life gets loud.
What you want isn't another thing to maintain. You want it to become who you are. It's how we do this now. I don't have to think about it anymore.
For years the question has been "How do I fix this?" or "How do I get you to finally understand me?"
For three days, the question is different:
"What do I want WITH you?"
"And how do WE build it now?"
Not someone else's idea, your unique relationship, built just for the two of you.

For three days in the Wailea Beach area, a handful of couples sit down with me and build the marriage they've always wanted — the one you both pictured before life started editing it.
Not from a workbook. Not from a stage. From the two of you, out loud, with me in the room helping you say the things you've each been trying to say for years in a language the other one can finally hear.
Day One
The Blueprint
What did you each actually want when you said I do? Not the wedding. The marriage. We put it on the table — both of you, in your own words — and for most couples this is the first time they've heard each other say it.
Day Two
The Translation
Her operating system, in words and actions he can execute. His, in words and actions she can execute. This is where I've been trying so hard finally lands as love instead of pressure — in both directions.
Day Three
The Build
We install it. The rhythms, the words, the moves that make this who you are instead of something you have to remember. You leave with a marriage that runs on its own — and a way to catch it if it ever starts to drift.
(I'm not handing you a curriculum. You can get information anywhere. What you get here is the room — both of you, out loud, building it together.)
The rule of the room
Nobody gets put on trial in that room. Not her. Not him.
For Him
I need you to hear this before anything else, because I know what three days with a coach sounds like to a man: counseling with an audience. Sitting in a circle while a stranger takes inventory of everything you got wrong.
That is not what this is.
There is nothing wrong with him — and I'm going to show him how strong he is.
There is nothing wrong with her — and I'm going to show her how strong she is.
Nobody's broken. Nobody gets analyzed, diagnosed, or asked to confess anything in front of anyone.
And I will never — never — tell a man to give in and do whatever his wife wants, or a wife to do whatever her husband wants. Appeasement is the counterfeit of love, and I don't teach it.
You're not coming to be fixed. You're coming to build. That's the whole thing.
For her
If you're the wife reading this over his shoulder…
He's on this page. Let that land for a second.
I know what it's been like. You've probably said nothing's wrong more times than you can count, because what was wrong was too big and too tangled to say. You've watched him work harder for everyone but you and wondered if you'd stopped being on the list.
Here's what I know after thirty years and more than forty years of my own marriage: he never stopped loving you. He just lost the language. And the fact that he's here — that he's willing to sit in a room for three days and learn it — is the message you've been waiting years to receive.
You won't be put on the spot. You won't be blamed. You won't be asked to perform. You'll be seen. And you'll get to watch him show up for you in front of witnesses — which is a thing you will never, ever unsee.
Is this for us?
Fit is about what a couple wants — never about who they are.
You still love each other — you do — and that's the part that makes it so hard to talk about. Because if it were over, you'd know what to do. It isn't over. It's worse. It's two people who never stopped loving each other, living like roommates who used to be something. The love is right there — and it's landing on the wrong frequency. That's not a feeling problem. That's a translation problem. That's the couple I built this room for.
- You want to feel closer, and more like a team than two people managing a household.
- You're entering a new season — an empty nest, a move, a business, a rebuild — and you want to walk into it deliberately.
- Life has been running you over, so many painful mistakes have been made you can't see each other anymore — just the pain and no way out.
- Things are good, and you don't want to find out in three years what good becomes when nobody touches it.
LoveLife Live™ is relationship coaching and education. It is not therapy, medical care, or crisis support, and it isn't a substitute for mental-health treatment.
I'd rather tell you now than have you find out in Maui.
This is not for you if you want the other person to be the one who changes.
That isn't what we're doing, and it won't work.
This is not for you if you're looking for a script to make her stop being upset.
I won't teach you to appease her. I'll teach you to lead.
This is not for you if you're coming to be told you're fine.
I won't coddle you. I also won't shame you. I'll show you what you're actually carrying and how to aim it.
This is not for you if your partner has already decided.
If they've told you they're done and they mean it, call me first. There's a different path for that, and it starts with you alone.
After Maui · BONUS
Three days builds it. Twelve months makes it permanent.
Here's the truth about every breakthrough: it's not the breakthrough that fails. It's the drift. Six months later a new project or a new challenge claims your whole lane, urgent takes over and you don't notice the marriage slipping until it's already slipped.
I don't want this to be one of those amazing three days where you go home fired up and six months later life has run everything over again. I want what you build there to live when you get home.
So I built a catch for it. Your investment includes a full year in The Keep with me after Maui:
A monthly scorecard.
Two minutes. You each rate the marriage, honestly, and send it in. You'll know where you stand before it becomes a fight.
A monthly call.
Every couple who's ever been in the room, together, once a month with me. Not a support group — a room full of people who built what you built and are keeping it.
I reach out when the score drops.
You don't have to notice. You don't have to raise your hand. If the numbers slide, I'm in your inbox before it becomes a problem.
This is the part I've never offered before, and it's the reason I finally put LoveLife Live™ back on the calendar. A marriage that holds for three months is a nice weekend. A marriage that holds for years is the point.
The Keep is the twelve months after Maui.

Why Maui
Because you can't build something new in the same room where the old thing lives.
Our home for the three days is just steps from The Grand Wailea and Wailea Beach — my favorite beach in Maui. October 26, 27 and 28, 2026. We work from 9 to 6 each day. Evenings and mornings are yours: the beach, dinner, a walk with no phones. Some couples tell me the evenings were where the real thing happened.
I don't want you doing this between emails and laundry and somebody needing something from you. I want you to wake up in Maui, look at this person you chose, and have the space to remember: this is us.
Registered couples receive the address and arrival details by email.
Travel and Accommodations
Couples arrange and pay for their own travel and lodging. The three days run 9 to 6, so plan to arrive the evening of October 25 and depart no earlier than the evening of October 28.
Ten couples. $5,000 per couple. All in.
That's three days in Maui with me, both of you, and a year in The Keep — the scorecard, the monthly calls, and me in your inbox when the numbers slip.
I'm not going to stack up a list of fake bonus values for you. You've already been paying for this — in distance, in drift, in the thing you stopped saying out loud.
The only question that matters is whether you want to be the couple who built it — or the couple who kept meaning to.

Meet Genie
I'm Genie Goodwin. And I've been on both sides of your kitchen table.

Thirty years coaching high-performing people and the ones who love them. Two books. Married more than forty years.
And I had the affair.
Not a client's. Mine. Nobody caught me — I confessed it to my husband myself and told him I'd pay whatever price he required, including divorce. He kept me. Then I rebuilt it, and the rebuilding was mine to do.
I've also been her: the wife who went cold, who was furious and couldn't have told you why, who'd have said nothing's wrong if you'd asked.
So I've done the thing you're not supposed to come back from, and I've sat where she's sitting. That's why I can see you both — and why I'm not going to rule against either one of you.
